Start your day at Vijayawada Junction, one of the busiest railway stations in South India. Even in the early morning, the place is full of life. 7:00 AM โ Kanaka Durga Temple, 2 km, 10 min by auto
Take an auto and go to Indrakeeladri Hill, where youโll find the famous Kanaka Durga Temple. Itโs a popular temple dedicated to Goddess Durga and an important place for many people in Andhra Pradesh. From the top of the hill, you can enjoy a peaceful view of the Krishna River, especially in the morning. Thereโs no entry fee, and if youโre lucky, you might get to see the morning aarti (prayer).
8:30 AM โ Mogalrajapuram Caves, 3 km, 10 min by auto
Next, visit the old Mogalrajapuram Caves. These caves were made in the 5th century and are small but have a lot of history. You can see carvings of Lord Shiva and Vinayaka here. Itโs a peaceful spot where you can take a walk and click some nice photos. Thereโs no entry fee.
10:00 AM โ Gandhi Hill, 5 km, 15 min by auto
Now go to Gandhi Hill, where thereโs a big stupa built to remember Mahatma Gandhi. You can climb up and enjoy a nice view of the city from the top. Thereโs also a small museum and library that show parts of Gandhiโs life. Entry is free, and itโs a calm place to sit and relax.
11:30 AM โ Bhavani Island, 7 km to Berm Park, then 6 min by boat
Take a cab to Berm Park and catch a boat to Bhavani Island, one of the biggest river islands in India. The boat ride is short but fun! Once you reach the island, you can enjoy gardens, boating, zip-lining, and swings. The boat ticket costs around โน100 to โน150.
1:00 PM โ Eat Street Vijayawada, 5 km, 15 min by cab
Time for lunch! Visit Eat Street for some spicy Andhra biryani, crispy vadas, and cool drinks. Try local sweets like Pootharekulu too. Around โน200 per person is enough here.
2:30 PM โ Undavalli Caves, 8 km, 20 min by cab
These caves look amazing! Go inside and youโll see a big reclining Buddha carved from stone. Itโs a calm and quiet place to explore, and thereโs no entry fee.
4:00 PM โ Prakasam Barrage, 4 km, 10 min by auto
End your day at this long dam across the Krishna River. Sit by the edge, feel the cool breeze, and watch the sunset. Itโs the perfect calm ending to your trip.
