Kakinada Beach is one of the most peaceful and clean beaches on the Andhra coast. You can walk along the long shore, enjoy cool sea breeze, and relax with your friends or family. There are food stalls nearby where you can try snacks and local seafood.
Annavaram Satya Narayana Temple
Located on a hilltop near Kakinada, this temple is dedicated to Lord Satya Narayana. The view from the top is beautiful, and many people come here to do special poojas and get blessings.
Kukkuteswara Swamy Temple – Pithapuram
This ancient temple is in Pithapuram and is known for its spiritual power. It’s one of the 18 Maha Shakti Peethas. The main deity is Lord Shiva in the form of a rooster (kukkuta).
One-Day Kakinada Plan & Itinerary: From Mangroves to Temples
8:00 AM – Start at Kakinada Railway Station
Start your day right in the center of the city – Kakinada Railway Station. Have a hot cup of tea or coffee from one of the stalls there and get ready for the journey ahead.
8:30 AM – Drive to Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary (18 km, ~1 hour)
Take the Kakinada–Yanam road and head towards Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary. It’s about 18 km from Kakinada and takes around an hour by cab or auto. Try to reach by 9:30 AM so you can enjoy the fresh morning and spot some birds.
9:30 AM – Explore Coringa’s Mangroves
Spend 2 to 3 hours here walking along the wooden path built above the ground. You might see birds like kingfishers, herons, and maybe even the rare white-backed vulture. The entry fee is just ₹10. If you want to see more, you can take a boat ride into the backwaters. Look out for small fish like mudskippers moving around near the roots!
12:30 PM – Return to Kakinada and Head to Hope Island (7 km by boat, ~45 minutes)
Head back to Kakinada Harbour—it’s about 18 km and takes around an hour. From there, you can take a boat in the afternoon to Hope Island. The island is around 7 km away from the coast, and the boat ride takes about 45 minutes. It’s a nice trip with cool sea breeze and great views of the bay.
2:30 PM – Relax on Hope Island
Stroll along the sandy spit, watch local fishermen, and enjoy a packed lunch under the coconut palms. The island is a natural haven for turtles and migratory birds.
4:00 PM – Uppada Beach for Sunset (10 km, ~30 minutes)
Return by boat, then drive 10 km east to Uppada Beach. The clear water and silver sand make it ideal for a sunset stroll—expect about a 30 minute ride by local bus or taxi
5:30 PM – Visit Draksharamam Temple (29 km, ~26 minutes)
On your way back, take a small detour to visit the old Bheemeshwara Swamy temple in Draksharamam, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It’s about 29 km from Kakinada and takes around 25 to 30 minutes by road on NH216. The temple is peaceful, and the greenery around it looks even more beautiful in the evening.
7:00 PM – Dinner at Subbayya Gari Hotel
Head back to town and enjoy a tasty Andhra thali at Subbayya Gari. It’s just about a 15-minute drive from the temple.
8:30 PM – End at Kakinada Port (1 km, ~5 minutes)
End your day with a peaceful walk along the port road and enjoy the night view of the ships. It’s just 1 km from the city center, around a 5-minute rickshaw ride.
