Things to Know About Kakinada Beach
Kakinada Beach hosts various festivals and events throughout the year. The Kakinada Beach Festival, also known as Sagara Sambaralu, is a three-day event featuring cultural programs, music performances, and food stalls. It’s a great time to experience local culture and have fun.
While at the beach, you can enjoy tasty local snacks. Vendors sell items like spicy corn, ice cream, and the famous Kakinada Kaaja, a sweet treat unique to the region. Trying these foods adds to the beach experience.
Close to Kakinada Beach, you can visit Hope Island, a small island that protects the city from storms. It’s accessible by boat and offers a chance to see nature up close. Another nearby place is the Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary, home to many birds and animals. It’s a great spot for nature lovers.
While the beach has attractions like the glass bridge and food stalls, some areas need better maintenance. Visitors have noted issues like garbage and lack of proper facilities. Efforts are being made to improve cleanliness and provide better amenities for tourists.
A Peaceful Evening at Kakinada Beach
I visited Kakinada Beach in Andhra Pradesh during the winter season, and it was a peaceful and enjoyable experience. The beach is about 8 km from the city center, and we reached there by auto-rickshaw. The road was smooth, and we saw many coconut trees along the way.
As we arrived, the sun was starting to set. The sky turned orange and pink, and the sea looked golden. The beach was not very crowded, which made it feel peaceful. We took off our shoes and walked on the soft sand. The gentle waves touched our feet, and the cool breeze made us feel relaxed.
One special part of the beach is the glass bridge. It is the first of its kind in India. Walking on it, we could see the water below our feet. It was a bit scary at first, but also exciting. The view from the bridge was amazing, especially during sunset.
We also visited the beach park nearby. There were fountains, a musical show, and places to sit. Children were playing, and families were enjoying snacks. We tried some local food like spicy corn and ice cream. The food was tasty and fresh.
Later, we sat on a bench and watched the stars appear in the sky. The sound of the waves was calming. It felt like time had slowed down. We talked, laughed, and enjoyed the moment.
Before leaving, we made a quick stop at the nearby lighthouse. Though we couldn’t go inside, it stood tall and added to the beauty of the beach.
Visiting Kakinada Beach was a wonderful experience. The combination of nature, the glass bridge, and the peaceful environment made it memorable. If you ever visit Andhra Pradesh, I recommend spending an evening at Kakinada Beach.
